If you ask me, the game industry is really stuck in the doldrums right now in terms of creativity. Part of that may be due to the fact that the console hardware is due for a refresh, but I think it's mainly the fact that most developers are churning out recycled stories and character models to pack the shelves with cloned games. There's very little originality on the horizon. Even the Rock Band model has been played to death.

I think the next big step forward needs to come with portable gaming devices. Microsoft needs to release a handheld so that the market is driven a bit harder. Across the board, portables need to start improving their performance. The mobile chips are powerful enough that we can drive games that look better than what's on the current generation of the PSP and DS. C'mon manufacturers, let's do this!

might buy wolfenstien for the PC.

Hope it has a renewed version of enemy territory (the axis v allies multiplayer that was bolted on to 'return to castle wolfenstein')

but yeah, nazi black magic, 1 man v all fps, clone of the 1st 2.

360's about to get an 'interesting' but admittedly 'novelty' hardware refresh.

You missed Starcraft 2, my personally most anticipated game. I also agree with Havoc, that the creativity portion has been lacking a bit lately. There are a few original titles lately: Rock Band, Armadillo Run/Goo Thingy on the Wii (Portal-like physics simulators), WiiFit... are worth writing home about. Nothing to speak of that doesn't introduce a new control aspect.

I'm kinda looking forward to Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood next month. It's an old western style first person shooter for the 360.

The Ghostbusters game looks like it'll be pretty good as well.
