League of Legends

So a few friends and I have started playing this game. Its really a great short term distraction (<1 hour.) Simple to learn but with a *lot* of depth. It really is very addictive.

League of Legends is a 1 unit RTS, where you play a hero that you level up (based on the Warcraft 3 mod DotA.) There is no base building, just unit control with 4 special abilities (very simple). It is primarily PvP with teams of 3 or 5 set against each other. Very fun and free-to-play! Both Nick (Hawken) and I are playing every other night for an hour or so.

Installed and experimented with over the weekend. I'm enjoying it so far, but I doubt I'd ever play it nearly as much as I used to play WoW. I've earned enough IP now to purchase 3 champions so far just by playing a handful of matches a day (all co-op vs AI beginner stuff so far). Big surprise, I named my summoner Nokokni...

I do rather like this game still. I've managed to claw my way up to level 30 through most of last season. I took a break recently, due to trying to finish my PhD and getting a part time job teaching this sem. That said, you can ping me on What's App or Text message and I'll likely jump in to play a quick one (evening between 6pm and mid-night are best.)
